Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Agdez – Zagora Desert (06 Drive)
We begin our 2-day Zagora Desert tour with an early morning pickup from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech. From there, we drive through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260 m) and pass through several traditional Berber villages, making stops along the way to take in the stunning panoramic views. Our first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll have a chance to take a short hike around this iconic location, which has served as a backdrop for Hollywood blockbusters like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and popular TV shows like Game of Thrones.
After lunch, either at Ait Ben Haddou or in nearby Ouarzazate, we continue our journey through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and the beautiful Draa Valley. Known for being Morocco’s longest river and largest palm grove, Draa Valley is a sight to behold.
We reach Zagora in the afternoon, where you’ll embark on a camel trek through the desert to witness a breathtaking sunset. Then, we head to your Sahara desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, followed by drum music and entertainment under a sky full of stars.
Day 2 : Zagora Desert to Marrakech (5.5h Drive)
After an early wake-up for a camel ride over the dunes to contemplate the magical sunrise, and a warm Moroccan breakfast. We depart for Ouarzazate,” The Gate Of The Desert”. We visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the studios where famous movies were shot. Then continue our way back to Marrakech, through Tizi Ntichka pass and the High Atlas mountains.
Finally, your 2-day Zagora desert tour will end with a drop-off at your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech.
