Day 1 : Arrival to Errachidia – Merzouga
In the first day of your trip to the desert and Marrakech, we pick you up from the airport in Errachidia. Then drive south to Merzouga Sahara desert. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga.
Day 2 : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia the Gnaoua village – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove
After breakfast, we dedicate the day to explore the region of Merzouga. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossils areas to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities.
Firstly, we start our journey in Merzouga, by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit, in their handmade woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking a Berber tea. Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music, and dancing performances. Its inhabitants are originating from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that we take a stroll in palm trees grove. Then drive a few kilometres to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called flamingos lake.
In the afternoon, you switch to camels and cross the sandy desert, with a stop on top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset, then continue to the luxury camp. You can enjoy the Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire, under vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
Day 3 : Merzouga Sahara – Todra Gorges– Erfoud – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah -High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
An early wake up is a must do to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast, before you return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. Then we leave the desert and drive west through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves, to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of Todra river has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains -Making a high red cliff-sided canyon. Then we drive along various Kasbahs, and palm tree groves to reach Ouarzazate, free time for lunch.
Then we continue to Marrakesh by driving through the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in more than 10 movies including : Gladiator , Alexander , The Mummy…etc. And TV series including Game Of Thrones. Finally, we drive through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakesh. Then we drive you to the airport or your accommodation. End of the desert tour
